Youtube Legend KingCobraJFS Dead at 34

The one and only Youtube legend KingCobraJFS (a.k.a. Josh Saunders) was recently found unresponsive in his Casper, Wyoming apartment. In a quickly deleted video, Josh’s father explained that he was conducting a welfare check when he discovered his son lying on the floor. When authorities arrived, scanner audio from local police indicated that Josh was “blue at the lips.” The official cause of death remains unknown at this time.

Josh began his YouTube channel in 2011, quickly gaining recognition in underground online spaces as a comedic figure with a goth-based persona. Some of his most notable videos include him disastrously dyeing his hair black right before a shift at Wendy’s, deep-frying avocados with the skin and sticker still on, documenting his adventures in ventriloquism, and showing off his so-called guitar “shredding” skills.

Josh suffered from Asperger’s syndrome, which fueled many online trolls and haters to provoke him solely to elicit a negative reaction. His struggle with alcoholism also took a darker turn in recent years, as he increasingly consumed copious amounts of alcohol on stream an act often encouraged by his viewers. It is also theorized that Ozzy Osbourne’s recent passing may have triggered an extreme reaction in Josh, given his immense love for the singer.

In a world where online creators increasingly resemble one another and originality feels like a dwindling, finite resource, King Cobra stood tall like a beacon in the darkness. Despite the incessant hatred and trolling, Josh was unapologetically himself never once changing or censoring who he was to fit the status quo.
