A Candid Look At Balenciaga Pre-Fall 2025

Demna has unveiled the new pre-fall 2025 collection for Balenciaga featuring new toe shoe designs and Kim Kardashian T-shirts.

Taken straight from Demna’s phone, some even featuring his blurry finger, the photos exhibit a raw realism that directly contradicts the typical polished image and feel of lookbooks. This presentation forces us to question what we accept as the norm in fashion and why we uphold certain standards that may be outdated in our current age. Anyway, enough glazing—let’s talk about the clothes.

The collection features many of the same styles and inspirations that Demna typically includes: oversized streetwear, now featuring famous celebrity faces like Kim Kardashian, Isabelle Huppert, and Nicole Kidman; modified sneaker heels; and futuristic visor sunglasses that resemble VR headsets. This time, however, there are new logos in the mix—that of sports car manufacturer Lamborghini, with their bull motif appearing plastered on T-shirts and adorning handbags, alongside the logo of orthopedic shoe insert brand Scholl and a custom take on what resembles an American presidential seal.

Overall, I must say that I like this collection more than previous ones. Maybe it feels a bit more subdued or calm, but the pieces seem more wearable than usual. Or perhaps it’s because of how it was presented in such a grounded, realistic way, almost as if Demna shared his personal camera roll with us. My personal favorite piece that stood out to me is the single-toe grip sandals. I have no idea whether they are comfortable or even logical, but I am intrigued nonetheless. Either way, I am enjoying this potential new direction Demna is venturing into and am curious to see what 2025 will bring for Balenciaga.
