Actor Michael Madsen Dead at 67
Longtime Tarantino collaborator and legendary character actor Michael Madsen has passed away in his Malibu home at the age of 67 due to cardiac arrest, according to authorities.
Madsen began his acting career in Chicago studying under John Malkovich as an apprentice and appearing in a production of Of Mice and Men. His first film role was in the 1983 science fiction film, Wargames, but it wasn’t until Quentin Tarantino’s 1992 hit, Reservoir Dogs, that Madsen would become a star. While not known for making the best choices in terms of filmography, Madsen has been quoted saying, “Some of them I'm only in for 10 minutes, but they bought my name, and they bought my face to put on the DVD box with a gun. What people don't always understand is that I established a certain lifestyle for my family back in the days of Species and Mulholland Falls and The Getaway. I wasn't about to move my six kids into a trailer park. So when people offered me work, it wasn't always the best, but I had to buy groceries and I had to put gas in the car.”
Madsen had a total of six children: one daughter and five sons. In January 2022, Madsen’s 26-year-old son with his wife, DeAnna Morgan, Hudson Madsen, died by suicide. He is survived by his other sons, Christian, Max, Luke, and Kalvin, as well as his daughter, Jessica.
Madsen will be remembered for his unforgettable performances portraying sleazy, slimy characters in films such as Reservoir Dogs, Donnie Brasco, Species, Kill Bill, and more.
